That First Naked Glory

A new book by Brian Rothery

(For now available only online)

Written over the past ten years, this book examines the great human drive that seeks erotic beauty. It also examines the dissociation or lesion that divides us between our rational and instinctive states. Beginning with the archetype of Eden, it searches down through history for signs of humankind's interest in erotic beauty and finds reasons for today's moral panic about 'sex abuse'. It sees sex abuse as the crimen exceptum upon which the modern Inquisition or police state is based.

Major manifestations of erotic beauty are identified in women, in the 'garden of love' created by the union of man and woman, in Sapphic displays, in androgyny, and in young people and children.

It notes that as society becomes more eroticized through the Internet and television it becomes more criminalized through that same process.

About the author

Brian Rothery is a widely published author and journalist and former Irish government agency press officer. He has had 21 books published, most by major US and British publishers, including early novels and later business books, some of the latter going into 16 translations. To check him out do an author search on Amazon. He lives in Ireland.

He is also the editor of the Inquisition 21st century web site and the co-ordinator of the British class action against the police and other perpetuators of Operation Ore (derived from the notorious US Landslide case), which destroyed the lives of thousands of mainly innocent British families. He brings to bear on the subject his considerable knowledge of the harm being done to humankind by the incorporation of the human need for erotic beauty into the prosecution apparatus of the state with its consequences of police and prosecution corruption and grave injustices.

Mainly, however, the book is an examination and celebration of erotic beauty itself and although it follows some avenues that will not please all, such as the separation of erotic beauty from mainstream pornography, the identification of new practices formerly considerd to be perversions, and the potential for beauty in the legally underaged and children, it is the author's honest attempt to follow the subject wherever it goes.

For publishers and agents

This book has not yet been shown to any publisher or agent. As the Operation Ore class action (known as a group action in the UK) goes to court during 2010, the subject will be of even greater interest and the author (who was not personally involved in Ore other than as a representative of the Orees) will be in a position to use the Operation Ore publicity to promote the book also. This web site, which benifits from unsolicited links from hundreds of other sites, will also continue to promote the book.
