Sex abuse is the latest expression of absolutism
'Speed assaults’ on children
Shy Keenan who heads up Phoenix Survivors in the UK and is an adviser to Scotland Yard on child sex abuse has issued a warning about ‘speed assaults’ on children. This is a new kind of offender with a ‘magician’s ability to use slight of hand (sic)’. How this works out in practice is that the speed assaulter can simply bump into your child and using the sleight of hand involved in the speed assault will have ‘already put his hand under the child’s clothing and indecently assaulted them’ and then simply walked on without your noticing anything. Shy Keenan writes: “We are aware of a certain type of sex offender, who ‘gets off ’ on what we call “speed assault”. (We assume that she is not using ‘gets off ’ here in the escape justice sense.)
Swimming pools are even more dangerous than streets. They “purposefully get themselves into position behind a child and pretend to ‘accidentally’ swim into them, then in a matter of seconds, indecently assault them under their swimsuits and continue on as though nothing happened.”
The press release continues: “Other offenders will walk purposely into children, on the street in broad daylight, to knock them down, in order to apologetically and helpfully pick them back up again, which is when the assault occurs.”
Under these new circumstances one cannot safely walk with a child down a crowded street, or let him or her go into a swimming pool.
However, the timing of the press release is to warn about the emergence of Santa Claus speed assaults, thus the title of the release ‘Santa Claws’. “Sex offenders often apply for work as a Santa. Child molesters love Christmas, because they can get virtually unquestioned access to children whilst wearing a trusted disguise.” Ideally, you should not bring a toddler to Santa anymore before he or she ‘can stand unaided’, at which point you instruct Santa ‘to let your child simply stand next to him for the photo’.
The next bit is very important and should be read carefully. If the child cannot stand unaided, and you feel, for whatever reason, you have to bring him or her to see Santa: “Don’t let your child be taken from your view for a second. Question/avoid any ‘Santa’s Grotto set up’, that has been designed to take your children from your view. Don’t let anyone ‘but you’ pick up your child. Place your child on Santa’s lap yourself . You would really only need ‘at most’, one hand on the child’s upper back to steady them; watch for any unnecessary touching or any physical over familiarity. Keep your eyes peeled, if your child starts to cry and squirm, find out why. If you are unhappy about anything, say so immediately, you are the parent and it is entirely appropriate for you to ‘reasonably’ raise your concerns.”
We wondered why the child would still cry and squirm and were shocked by what we learned. If the child still starts to cry and squirm, despite Santa’s hands being clearly in sight, this is an indication that Santa is transmitting another physical indication of his lust to the innocent child. And should that movement be as fast as his hands, God help the child!
But the really alarming thing that we learned from Shy Keenan is that the speed of the assault can be such that the even the child does not know it has happened. We do not yet know if any of the many recovered memory assaults established by Phoenix Survivors were speed assaults. It would be truly horrific if there was no way of knowing that the assaults ever took place.
