Sex abuse is the latest expression of absolutism
God help human sexuality!

As if things were not bad enough with our tortured sense of human sexuality, a new row is underway in the US, from which most of our woes spring, between Christian fundamentalists who would like to either raise the age of consent to 25 or ban sex altogether outside of marriage and GLSEN, which stands for Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, which is being accused of wanting to establish homosexuality as an essential school subject. GLSEN’s goals ‘extend to incorporating homosexual concepts into all curriculum, holding diversity seminars for teachers and students and ensuring that only positive discussions about homosexuality are allowed into elementary school classrooms, including kindergarten’.
Even the most liberal, recognizing the key words ‘only positive discussions’, know that this is one step away from compulsory education. So on the one hand we are being criminalized for improper thoughts and behaviour, including those concerning child sexuality, and on the other we are under pressure to allow (force?) our children to be instructed not just in sexual matters but in the positive nature of sex with same gender partners.
GLSEN also wants all schools to hold bisexual awareness days, ‘strategy instruction for homosexual teachers to promote a pro-homosexual atmosphere’ and to teach children that the definition of family includes parents of the same sex. GLSEN’s published mission is ‘about changing schools and school culture around lesbian, gay and bi-sexual issues and people’. It says, “What children learn in our schools is essential to fulfilling this vision for our future. We know that life-shaping lessons are best learned when we are young. Therefore, we are dedicated to bringing positive change to every school in every community."
The hostile Christian response claims that GLSEN is getting away with this because ‘too many parents in this country are crack heads, drunks, meth freaks or so addicted to sports, they see little else around them. Because of the heavy, progressive, communist income tax, too many mothers are forced to work full time, further removing that important bond and time with their children. Their precious little ones are sent straight into the jaws of the lion at tender ages’ (Quote from author Devvy Kidd (www.devvy.com).
Devvy Kidd now describes US schools as ‘the government's indoctrination centers’ and advises parents to teach their children at home. She and others of the Christian Right also see the movement behind all this as Marxist and the word ‘Communism’ is back in vogue. She asks: “ Does anyone remember Clinton's Surgeon General, Joycelyn Elders and her ‘for the children’ rhetoric that grammar school age children should be taught masturbation?”
She publishes an impressive list of courses being offered on college campuses. It includes cross-dressing, same-sex eroticism, the unbearable whiteness of Barbie, Lesbian Novels Since World War II, Nip, Tuck, Perm, Pierce, and Tattoo, The Psychology of the Lesbian Experience reviewing ‘various aspects of lesbian experience’ including the ‘impact of heterosexism/stigma, gender role socialization, minority status of women and lesbians, identity development within a multicultural society, changes in psychological theories about lesbians in sociohistorical context’, and a ‘wide selection of ancient Greek (and a few Roman) texts that deal with same-sex love, desire, gender dissidence, and sexual behaviour’.
She reveals sex surveys conducted without parental permission with schoolchildren ‘that ask the most intimate, adult questions of children’, and claims that many teachers are sick of being compelled “to teach hard core porn passed off as ‘sex-ed’ to students as young as seven.” She demands that the practise of encouraging children ‘to have a sodomite experience’ be stopped.
So what’s going on? How can we reconcile the sexual witch hunt that is destroying society with compulsory sex education in what was up to recently regarded as deviant sexual behaviour? Well both extremes have in common the result of severely damaging the relations between men and women, and creating an underdog out of the heterosexual male. The direction of the development however is quite fascinating.
From a position of claiming that the concept of sexuality and children is an oxymoron, social engineers have been forced to accept the reality of child sexuality. One of the compelling areas that made this necessary has been the increasing evidence of ‘improper touching’ between children, especially those placed in institutions and foster homes, ironically many as a result of accusations against parents. As predicted elsewhere on this web site (above), the social engineers have moved to accommodate this acknowledgement towards ‘appropriate sexual activity’ for children, now in the first instance involving themselves as ‘the appropriate instructors of sexuality to children’. It appears that we are only one short step away from the very people who invented the child sex abuse moral panic taking over the role of teaching child sexuality ‘in the appropriate manner’, with they themselves being qualified as the only ‘appropriate persons’ to have a legitimate sexual relationship with a child. Note how already there is a range of persons qualified to possess and study child pornography, who do not ‘view it inappropriately’ (i.e. they don’t get erections).
Sexuality is too important for human beings for the state not to try to have total control of it.
