One click and you’re out - Pervcheck
Pervcheck is at www.pervcheck.com. Its stated mission is to allow you to check on family members, neighbours, scoutmasters, coaches, babysitters, teachers, clergy, day-care staff and anyone who has access to children. It’s a free service and you can do a pervcheck on up to ten people at a time. It works by entrapment.
You simply send them the email address of the individual you are checking on – family member, teacher, club leader or friend.
Pervcheck sends him or her a sting email offering child porn links.
If your target who receives the email clicks on a single link offered, Pervcheck informs you that the individual is now a confirmed pervert. The Pervcheck people do not reveal whether they use this information with the police or in any other manner.
Our US correspondent checks it out
One of our US correspondents checked it out by supplying one of his own email addresses to Pervcheck.
He got a near instant email.

What did Joe click on?
He’s not sure – some link to get more information about Pervcheck he thinks. But has the FBI now been informed?
In his 2004 book, Constitutional Chaos (reviewed in our ‘Threats to liberty’ section in menu on left), the American judge Andrew P. Napolitano warns that the acceptance of the state as the giver and controller of rights has led directly to police corruption, perjury, fabricated evidence, kidnap, entrapment, false witnesses, compensation claims, the victim culture, and our prosecution state. Many like he would hold that entrapment such as the above is a criminal activity.
Building blocks in the Orwellian state
We cannot look into the private systems of the FBI or Scotland Yard, but we can move easily from Pervcheck to another private surveillance organization to see how Joe’s secrets can be used.

Permit us to add our own endorsement
PervCheck assures you that your inquiry will be treated in total confidence and that no one will ever know that you tried to entrap a member of your family, your spouse, a neighbour, friend or teacher or scoutmaster into committing an illegal action by one click of a mouse. We know that you would not want to have these people who may love or trust you to know that you did such a terrible thing. But PervCheck says you can trust them, even though they have your source and email on file and are collecting statistics and talk with the police. This also implies that the fact that you did such a low thing will never be passed to blackmailers or published on the Internet.

Warning! Pervcheck is illegal in the UK
We have been advised that the US Pervcheck scheme for the entrapment of people would be illegal in the UK. Anyone based in the UK using it would be committing a criminal offence by allowing a Pervcheck email to be sent to someone, under S(1)(1)(d) of the Protection of Children Act by ‘causing an advertisement to be published’.
Now this raises other considerations. We have not put a live link to the Pervcheck site, although we have published the URL. Is it possible that if we did put in a link even to criticize it and warn people about the scheme that we could commit a criminal act under the UK Protection of Children Act? If instead of our US correspondent causing an email to be sent to himself, one of our UK friends had done it, that individual would certainly have ‘caused an advertisement to be published’ as the resulting pervcheck email advertises child porn, even though he caused the advertisement to be published to himself by Pervcheck.
We must also ask if this is another case where it becomes dangerous to investigate or criticize entrapment schemes because we are not allowed to describe the scheme or its consequences for innocent people. We already know that in no case where we might uncover real child sexual abuse or child pornography can we do anything to help the children involved should it require us providing visual evidence of either. Similarly we cannot reveal evidence of police rackets involving child pornography.
We have therefore moved beyond the point already reached in some countries where it is a crime to criticize the law. We have reached the incredible stage where some legislation makes it criminal for us to expose a form of criminality that damages innocent people.
